The minimal approach to this slow burning release from Marco Bocatto allows for the mutterings of ‘Voodoo Sex’ to take centre stage over the hypnotic bass pattern and subtle, shuffling drum beat. The synth solo around halfway through provides what is essentially the only melody line of the whole piece, and, like every other element we can hear, the timbre of the synth constantly evolves, its harsh tendencies eventually fading into a rounded, percussive sound. Released in collaboration with producer Kamalimani, ‘Voodoo Sex’ is taken from the new Goodhas EP, which is already gaining traction and attention from fans of minimal deep house. -Dan Peeke
